Indra's Net

Indra’s Net is loosely based on the Hindu myth describing a giant, bejeweled net flung over the cosmos by the god Indra at the time of the universe’s creation. The work features closely-focused still life images of ordinary vegetable and produce netting layered with drawing, sometimes created digitally and at other times by hand, using graphite, colored inks, and debossing on the surface of the paper. Light and shadow, photographic line and drawn line merge, conflating realities, suggesting alternate, fragile layers of co-existence, tension and transcendence.
